Real-time key and scale detection for any audio or MIDI track, with chord suggestions you can drag straight into your DAW as MIDI.
About TONIC 2
TONIC 2 is an analysis tool: put it on an audio or MIDI track, press play, and it reports the likely key. It matches against the 24 major and minor keys, so it is a key finder rather than a detector for exotic modes. A tuning display also shows deviation from A = 440 Hz in cents and hertz.
Audio files can be dragged in for offline analysis too. The virtual keyboard follows the selected match and shows the scale's notes and triads. Fold Keys maps only the scale's notes to the white keys of a MIDI keyboard, and Chord mode plays matching chords. MIDI out lets it drive external instruments, and the plugin adds no latency.
Version 2 brings an updated real-time detection algorithm, chord drag-and-drop, the Fold Keys keyboard and a refreshed interface. It installs as a separate plugin, so existing TONIC 1 sessions are left alone.
