Alien Purr

About Alien Purr

Alien Purr splits a bass into a sub and three layers above it. The sub is a clean sine with its own steady envelope, phase-locked to the layers at the start of each note, so the low end hits the same on every note instead of shifting with the oscillators.

Body covers the warm low mids, Bite the snap and talk, Air the click and top. Each layer page has a five-point EQ drawn over its live sound with a Listen option, drive in tube, tape, clip, fold or crush flavors with a draggable curve, plus decay and width. Auto Oct keeps the sub low under high notes, and Phone makes the line audible on small speakers.

Generate makes new patches on demand, and its Advanced tab adds locks, morphing and breeding of eight variations around a sound. Kick Lock ducks the bass on the beat or from a sidechain. The preset genres run from psytrance and techno to drum and bass, hip-hop and ambient.
