About Acid Drum 808
Acid Drum 808 is a free drum machine modeled on classic analog rhythm boxes, with eleven voices: bass drum, snare, three toms, rim shot, hand clap, cowbell, cymbal and open and closed hats. Each voice has its own sound controls (the bass drum gets decay, tone and pitch) and its own three-band compressor for lows, mids and highs.
Patterns live in four banks of eight, 32 in total, with sequences anywhere from 1 to 16 steps. Accent and shuffle shape the groove, and patterns can go out as MIDI or come in from a MIDI file. All parameters are exposed for VST3 automation, and the knobs move on screen as automation plays.
It ships with 250 factory presets sorted by genre, keeps user presets separate, and syncs to FL Studio, where it was developed and tested. The interface switches between French and English.
