About Still
Still targets steady background noise on vocal recordings: preamp hiss, room tone, AC and fan rumble, and electrical hum. It isn't meant for one-off sounds like coughs or chair squeaks; those still need an editor.
It tracks the noise floor continuously across 8 bands, so there is no profile to capture first. Processing happens in the time domain rather than with FFT, which the developer says rules out the watery, chirpy artifacts of spectral denoisers. A Delta button solos exactly what is being removed. An amber ring shows gain reduction, and the waveform marks kept audio in teal and removed audio in amber.
Since it adds no latency it can stay on a track while recording and monitoring. Podcasts, voiceover and guitar DI are also listed uses.
