About Lunch Box
Lunch Box is a compressor from Fat Berry DSP with twelve engines behind one set of controls, including vari-mu valve, optical, FET, VCA, diode-bridge, Zener, PWM and digital designs. Switching engines keeps the knobs where they are, though attack, release and ratio behave differently in each model.
A Mix control blends in parallel compression and Makeup sets the level of the compressed signal. The detector has a sidechain high-pass so a kick or low bass note doesn't pull the whole group down, an external sidechain input for ducking, and an SC Listen switch to hear what the detector hears.
Typical uses on the developer's page: an optical engine such as Glow Up for vocal and bass levelling, a glue engine on a bus, and an aggressive engine on a drum room stem blended in parallel.
