About AUDIOMAX 444 Tube Compressor
AUDIOMAX 444 rebuilds a 1965 broadcast leveling amplifier from its own circuit, pairing nuvistor tubes and matched diodes with a gain stage that holds a mix steady inside a 10 dB window without pumping. It behaves as a leveler rather than a compressor: level correction, not a ratio-and-threshold curve, does the work.
A gated gain stabilizer keeps the noise floor from creeping during pauses and returns gain to zero after 10 seconds of silence. Extended controls reach into transformer saturation, diode character, circuit age and hum, plus sidechain high-pass filtering and a parallel mix blend, with up to 8x oversampling under the hood.
21 factory presets are split across seven categories such as Voice, Drums, and Bus and Master, alongside unlimited custom preset storage.
