About Broken Record
Broken Record ages clean digital audio toward a worn vinyl sound. At zero Wear it is transparent; as the knob goes up, every part of the effect moves at once toward a warped, damaged-record feel.
The surface noise is generated in real time: pink hiss, grit, micro-crackle, pops, and a tick once per revolution, all lightly shaped by the input signal. As Wear rises, the top end rolls off, the low bass moves toward mono, the stereo image narrows, and soft saturation adds harmonic weight. Wow and flutter come in along the same curve.
Leit Audio pitches it at lo-fi beats, intros, drum loops, keys and samples, and transitions.
