A drum machine you play rather than program: synthesized pads that each carry their own steps, kits that change the whole sound, and ready-made rhythms with A/B, fill and auto, plus a SPACE reverb and a tempo-synced ECHO. Drag a pattern into your DAW as MIDI. Standalone, VST3 and AU on macOS 11+ (Apple Silicon and Intel); standalone and VST3 on Windows. Two years of free updates, no licence key.
About RU-8
RU-8 is a synthesized drum machine built for playing first. Press play and a full rhythm runs; A and B switch on the next bar, FILL drops a fill, and AUTO cycles A, fill, B, fill by itself. Kits change the sound, sets change only the rhythm, and any set plays on any kit.
Every drum is synthesized inside, so tune and decay reshape the sound rather than stretch a sample. Each pad has its own steps and a strip with level, tune, decay, pan, mute, solo and sends to SPACE, an algorithmic Room, Plate and Hall reverb, and ECHO, a tempo-synced ping-pong delay. GLUE compresses the bus ahead of a -1 dBFS limiter.
Kits range from Analog, Punch and Trap with a long 808 to Brush, Glass, Lo-fi, Breaks and Anatolia with darbuka, bendir, def and zil. Pads answer General MIDI drum notes, and patterns drag out as channel 10 MIDI with the swing intact.
