About Terminal
Terminal is a distortion chain that goes from mild drive to outright noise. The six circuits are Tanh, Germanium, Asymmetric, Wavefold, Red LED and Blue LED, each with its own compression under the hood (Optical, VCA or Fast), and a feedback loop with a variable buffer size can self-oscillate into pitch wobble.
A peak EQ with adjustable Q can sit before or after the distortion, and high- and lowpass filters shape what is left. Stereo width comes from SSB frequency shifting, which the developer describes as free of phase artifacts and mono-safe; the same shifter does smearing and beating effects. Two LFOs or audio envelope followers can modulate any knob.
A time-aligned dry path handles parallel blending, a look-ahead limiter is built in with DAW-compensated latency, and a CRT-style oscilloscope with adjustable TIME/DIV shows the waveform. Presets save as .terminal files, and the demo clips lean on kicks, bass, techno loops and synths.
