Quantum Immortality

About Quantum Immortality

Quantum Immortality is a VST3 effect built around one idea: capture a moment of incoming audio, a note or a chord, hold it, and keep transforming that same held source. Capture / Hold grabs the audio, Release / Panic lets it go, Resume Source restarts a source that is already retained and Clear Source removes it. A new instance starts empty, and a reopened session comes back disarmed.

The held sound runs through one of two paths. Effects offers Drive, Chorus or Echo, with Amount setting how far the sound is transformed, Motion setting chorus speed or echo spacing, and Tone shaping the transformed branch. Playground has four play modes (Stutter, Slice, Reverse and Scrub) with controls for activity, scan position, rate and pitch, slice size, repeat count and direction, plus clock sync to the host tempo and a lockable pattern seed so patterns repeat.

In Expression mode a pedal or automated controller does the work: heel down releases, a little travel gives a clean hold and more travel transforms it. Dry and held levels are separate controls, and all 33 controls sit on a single panel with presets, A/B compare and input and output meters. It runs on Intel Macs only (macOS 14 or later, no native Apple Silicon build), and the installer is ad-hoc signed rather than notarized, so macOS may block installation.
