About Carbonator
Carbonator is a saturator with five flavors, each a separate DSP chain, all run from one Fizz knob. Turning Fizz moves every stage of the chosen chain at once, from a light touch to heavy drive.
Cola is console-style warmth: an asymmetric soft clipper for even harmonics, a compressor from 1.5:1 to 8:1, a tilt EQ and auto makeup gain, with drive from 1x to 6x. Cherry is tube-style distortion with odd harmonics. Grape adds bit reduction and digital artifacts. Lemon-Lime is a harmonic exciter for the top end, and Orange Cream is a resonant lowpass filter with drive. Carbonated mode blends all five.
The developer's starting points: Cola on drums at 60 to 80 percent Fizz, Grape on vocals, Cherry on bass and synths, Lemon-Lime on hi-hats and acoustic guitar, Orange Cream on pads and keys, and Carbonated mode at low settings on the mix bus.
