About Purrigee

Purrigee is a drone reverb from Cat Psychedelia, a solo developer in Japan. The idea is simple: play a chord, stop, and the sound keeps floating before it falls away slowly. Most of the work happens on one big TIDE knob, which runs from fully dry to deep; past the middle the dry signal stays at full level and only the reverb grows.

The HOVER switch is what sets it apart from a normal reverb. While you play, the tail holds like a freeze and new notes are soaked in on top as the older layer thins out. When you stop, it hangs for a few seconds and then decays over about twice the DECAY time. With HOVER on, TIDE also sets how long each layer hangs, and a HOLD control sets how often new sound gets soaked in. Switch HOVER off and it behaves like a regular reverb.

The 24 presets come in four groups: DUSK for short rooms, HALO for medium glowing tails, PERIGEE for long dark drones and LUNACY, where the pitch of the tail sways slowly. A tweak panel adds DECAY from 1.5 to 30 seconds, TONE, an octave-up SHIMMER and input and output gain. Preset changes fade the old tail out first so they don't click, CPU use drops to almost nothing in silence, and it needs no account, activation or internet connection.
