About Controlla Voice
Controlla Voice brings Controlla's voice swap into the DAW as an audio effect on a vocal track. Press record in the plugin, play the track, pick a voice, then hit Swap voice: the new vocal plays back on the same track, ready to comp, mix and bounce. The input can be a solo vocal, a full mix or layered vocals, and the plugin treats each one differently.
The library holds more than 700 royalty-free voices. You can also clone your own voice in the Controlla web app from up to about 10 minutes of dry vocals, and it shows up under My voices in the plugin. Before a swap you can shift pitch up to 24 semitones either way, set key, scale and retune speed, and set accent, dynamics and consonants to keep the original phrasing or lean into the new voice. Cleanup options tame breaths and noise.
Swaps render in Controlla's cloud, so the plugin needs an internet connection but no GPU, and the DAW session stays on your Mac. It signs in with the same account as Controlla's web and iOS apps and draws on the same credits; Controlla says a swap costs about one credit per second of audio and failed swaps are refunded. Pro Tools and Windows versions are on a waitlist.
