AI plugin makers compared
Four tools now turn a text prompt into an audio plugin, but only some of them give you a plugin you can load in your own DAW. Every fact below was checked on the maker’s official pages on October 15, 2026.
Quick answer
- Widest format and OS support: Sonorie (VST3/AU/CLAP/LV2, Windows, macOS and Linux, plus source code). Subscription only.
- Cheapest way to try: Google Flow Music (free core features) on a Mac, or pluginmaker.ai’s 50 free credits for browser previews.
- Windows VST3 from a prompt: pluginmaker.ai (paid plans) or Sonorie.
- Inside a song generator: Suno Studio. Its effects only run inside Studio and can’t be exported.

Google Flow Music
Google’s approach installs two host plugins once (Flow Instrument and Flow Effect). Every plugin you design afterwards is a small file you drag onto them. It’s Mac-only for now. Read our step-by-step Google Flow Music VST guide for setup in Ableton, Logic and FL Studio.
Sonorie
Sonorie generates real C++ DSP code, lets you hear it in the browser, then builds native plugins for all three desktop platforms and hands you the project source. Its terms say plans are subscription-only with no free tier.
pluginmaker.ai
pluginmaker.ai lets you try ideas free in the browser. Downloading VST3/AU builds needs the $30 or $100 monthly plan, and plugins run through its installer after you sign in.
Suno Studio
Suno’s plugin builder lives inside Suno Studio 2.0 on the Premier plan. It’s good for shaping Suno tracks, but you can’t load these effects in another DAW.
Prices are in USD as listed by each company and can change, so check the official page before you subscribe. NewVSTs isn’t affiliated with any of these companies.
