About Shusssh
Shusssh is a spectral de-esser from Fat Berry DSP. Instead of soloing a detection band and setting a threshold, it tracks the sibilant region against an adaptive baseline built from the voice itself, so the threshold follows the performance. Focus defaults to AUTO and reads LOW or HIGH at its extremes for takes where you want to steer it.
Reduction is applied as a spectral mask, only in the bands carrying the sibilance, rather than turning the whole signal down. Detection runs on 32 bands spaced on the ERB scale from 150 Hz to 16 kHz, with event segmentation and a noise-floor estimator so breaths and room tone don't trigger it, plus non-sibilant and anti-lisp guards.
Controls are Sensitivity, Amount, Focus and Output, with 48 factory presets. VST3 on Windows 10+ (64-bit) and VST3/AU on macOS 12+ (Intel and Apple Silicon). The 30-day trial is the full plug-in with no card, and a licence activates on up to 3 machines.
