A curated set of Mellotron M400 tape sounds from M-Tron Pro -- choirs, strings, flutes and brass -- in a redesigned interface with new onboard effects.
About M-Tron Select 2
M-Tron Select 2 is a free cut-down of M-Tron Pro, the software Mellotron GForce has made since 2001. It carries a handpicked set of M400 tape sounds, keeping the character and imperfections of the original instrument.
The controls stay close to the real thing. Each patch has an A and a B layer balanced with one Level knob, plus Pitch and Tone. New in version 2 are onboard effects with a set of presets built around them, a categorized preset browser, and an interface modeled on M-Tron Pro IV.
Owners of the first M-Tron Select get version 2 as a separate plugin, so the original stays installed alongside it. It also runs as a standalone application.
