12-bit sampler modeled on a vintage rackmount digital sampler, with a captured analog input stage and a converter whose sample rate follows the audio bandwidth from 7.5 to 48 kHz across eight MIDI-playable voices. AU and VST3 on macOS, VST3 on Windows.
About PTF S950 Sampler
PTF S950 follows the signal path of the hardware sampler it is modeled on: input runs through a capture of the unit's analogue front end, into a 12-bit converter whose sample rate scales with a set bandwidth, from 7.5 kHz up to 48 kHz. Insert it as an effect on a bus, or record into its memory and play the sample back from MIDI.
Eight voices can each hold their own sample, triggered with keygroups and a velocity switch, each running through its own filter plus amplitude envelopes and an LFO. The whole front panel is modeled too, with the original 40x2 display, eight mode keys and a floppy-style save to its own file format.
