HOLODRIFT

About HOLODRIFT

HOLODRIFT feeds a granular sampler into a spectral resynthesis engine. Sounds go in, get broken into partials and rebuilt, and the result ranges from a smeared, gritty take on the source to the same notes played back with a completely different timbre.

Each of the eight slots is a full granular engine with LOCK, FREE, HOLD and LOOP playback. The JOURNEY position crossfades between slots and moves by hand on an XY pad, by an LFO with seven shapes, automatically, or note by note. The spectral chain has FREEZE, TIME SHUFFLE, SCRAMBLER and twelve more frame processors. WAVE mode rebuilds each partial with a wavetable, and a dropped sample can be measured into a 128-harmonic table.

After the spectral stage come pitch shift, a polyphonic auto-tune that snaps each partial to one of 24 scales, a 16-string resonator, an FFT delay, two reverbs, a filter, a tape-style DIRT section and a three-band compressor. A SLICER resamples the output onto up to 16 pads. It ships with 240 presets in 13 banks and a sound library in sixteen collections.
