About Work Horse
Work Horse is a synth from Fat Berry DSP built around four sound sources. Each source can be set to any of ten engines: analogue, wavetable, FM, additive, phase distortion, formant, physical, sample, granular or spectral, with its own level, pan and tuning, so one patch can stack a saw, a granular pad and a plucked physical model.
The sources feed two filters, state-variable low, high, band and notch plus a ladder low-pass, running serial, parallel or split. After them sits a resonant body with modal, string or tube modes, then six effect slots (drive, chorus, delay, reverb, spring, EQ, protection and spectral), each in series or on one of two sends.
Modulation runs through eight envelopes (ADSR or MSEG), eight LFOs, eight macros and 64 routes with per-note or global scope, plus a step sequencer and MPE with lower and upper zones. Up to 64 voices, with separate realtime and bounce quality settings. Windows VST3 and Mac VST3/AU, macOS 14 or later on Intel and Apple Silicon.
