Additive

About Additive

Additive builds tones from individual harmonics instead of filtering a bright waveform down. The developer frames it as a vintage synth from an alternate history where early instruments went additive. Movement comes from inside the spectrum: some harmonics pulse in step while others drift or run against them.

Bands start from a standard shape, a random spread or by hand. Bands and Slope set the spectral roll-off, while Bulk is a resonant peak with its own Position, Width and Height that can sit above or below that roll-off. Four LFOs with drawable, tempo-synced shapes and four envelopes route to harmonic movement, Morph, resonance, effects or each other.

Per-harmonic Character, detune, chorus, drive and stereo controls push the tone past plain sines. An XY pad and Z slider take any assignment, with Z following mod wheel or velocity. A built-in FX section has reverb, delay, drive, compression and EQ.
