About ACIDQUENCH
ACIDQUENCH is a free step filter from Tonecraft Tokyo for Windows and macOS (VST3/AU) that puts an acid-style filter on any sound already in the mix. Drawing across a 16-step lane sets the cutoff in time with the DAW, so a static drum loop, pad or bass line turns into a moving pattern without hand-drawn automation.
DEPTH strengthens the drawn shape and RESO adds squeal at each step; a separate accent row hits chosen steps harder, LENGTH can shorten the pattern to 5 or 7 steps so it drifts against the bar, and SWING shuffles the feel. A FOLLOW mode opens the filter from the incoming audio's own transients instead of (or alongside) the lane, and a DIST panel adds DRIVE, HARD or FUZZ distortion.
It ships with 50 presets, each with its own lane pattern, and an English/Japanese interface that follows the OS display language. It's free for personal and commercial use; the developer notes the macOS build isn't notarized, so macOS needs an xattr step from the included README before it will open.
